Jim Dunn and Laura Hamlett have been involved in writing, marketing, and promotions for the better part of their careers.
Jim began his career in graphic design and soon added marketing, trade shows, publicity, and promotions to his skill set. With a B.A. in Communications, he is well-rounded in his talents, able to fulfill a variety of roles, providing just the right services to meet the client’s needs.
Laura, too, has performed a range of tasks professionally. She has marketing, writing, publicity, promotions, and document layout skills. In addition to an M.F.A. in Creative Writing and M.A. in Media Communications, she is a doctoral candidate in Forensic Psychology.
In 2002, the duo founded PLAYBACK:stl, an arts and entertainment magazine first in print, and continuing on the web (www.playbackstl.com). They created and ran an offshoot music festival for four years—an endeavor requiring honed talents in event planning, scheduling, promotions, and public relations. They also performed management and publicity for musical artists and entertainment events.
